SJM Sports was founded by Sam Menzin to help investors evaluate and optimize growth opportunities across the sports ecosystem. With over 15 years of leadership experience in professional baseball, Sam brings operational expertise and strategic insight to areas such as player acquisition, contract negotiations, athlete development, and large-scale performance infrastructure.

Sam previously served as Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Detroit Tigers, where he led player acquisition strategy, oversaw performance operations, and managed over $100 million in capital investments across training facilities, academies, and stadium upgrades. His expertise spans contract negotiation, salary arbitration, high-performance staffing, and talent pipeline development.

Sam began his career in sports with Turner-Gary Sports, a top player representation agency, and held previous roles with the New York Mets and Complete Game Institute. A native of Westbury, New York, Sam studied history and psychology at Swarthmore College and is currently completing his Executive MBA at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College.
